NOTD: Rimmel LycraPRO "Urban Princess" with Elegant Touch Nail Candy

I saw these false nails with nail stickers in Superdrug and HAD to have them. Then I crashed my bicycle going for a long ride today I sprained my ankle and scraped my knee so my pain prevented me from making the elaborate manicure I'd dreamed about since I saw these in the shop... :(

But I still had to do a manicure so I chose my old trusty pal "Urban Princess" and jazzed it up with some strips from the Nail Candy kit. This is 2 coats of polish and top coat then I just divided a strip in two and stuck it on :) Pretty and sparkly!

I found that most of the designs are probably too big for my nails - I will have to trim them before I use them, but I am really looking forward to mixing and matching these designs up!

NOTD: Collection 2000 Hot Looks "Neon Art" and amazing new stuff!

First off - here is the new Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover! It's indeed like a bit of magic in a jar, just see how quick it removes my polish! :D Just stick your finger in that hole and wiggle round for a few seconds. It says it's supposed to smell like red fruits and vanilla, but I think it just smells like non-acetone nail polish remover wipes in general (such as Quickies). But still less whiffier than acetone! The formula is acetone and paraben free. And OMG, it totally works! But, eh, hello, £4.99 a pop?... During For that price, it better last me about a month at least!! I'll keep you posted on it's life-span! I am looking forward to trying this on a glitter manicure...

Onto the NOTD. This is another of the new spring colours from Collection 2000 Hot Looks. It's a crazy hot corally-pink creme that has made me feel very happy indeed :) This is 2 coats with a slick of MegaShine for a quicker drying (not that it needs it but I'm just addicted to speed-dry top coat...). I love it!

NOTD: Collection 2000 Hot Looks "Electric Dreams"

How amazing is this polish?? :) It looks more blue here than it really is, it is turquoise with a cool green touch to it but my stupid camera won't pick it up. This is 2 perfect coats with a slick of MegaShine, just awesome! This is from their spring nail colours and new in the shops. I can also see myself getting the hot pink "Neon Art" and the purple "Go Retro!"...

I love Collection 2000 lip and nail products as some of you may know; I am still addicted to their Cream Puff Lip Cream, I alternate between two colours, "Fairy Cake" and "Cotton Candy". It's a lovely, moisturising matte lip cream that lasts through to lunch!

NOTD: Rimmel Lasting Finish "Hot Pink"

I love old Rimmels :) I love new Rimmels too, of course. I've got a whole drawer in my Helmer full of Rimmels - UK ones and American Play Fast ones. This is an old one, a pinky-peach shimmer. Looks kind of orangey here but it's not. More, eh, pig pink?.. After a disaster trying to create a layering that looked a bit like Chanel "Paradoxal", I swore and took that mess off and then went into my Rimmel drawer and took our the first polish I saw. Not one of my favourite Rimmels but it'll do for a couple of days!

This is 2 coats with a slick of MegaShine. It's old so it was a bit thick and dried a bit slowly but nothing a little few drops of Seche Restore can't fix :)

NOTD: Bourjois So Laque! "Bleu Model"

I got this lovely lacquer for my Xmas this year, and I've been waiting for the perfect time to wear it! This is 3 coats with MegaShine top coat. The formula on the Bourjois So laque! seem to be a bit thin most of the time, you usually need 3 coats or more for good coverage. But they do shine like crazy even without top coat! Love this colour, just what I needed after a stressful day.

I am having a bit of grief with my skin at the moment, so I have been trying to source good skin care that doesn't contain dimethicone. Even the so called "sensitive skin", "natural" and "organic" creams have this devil ingredient in them, would you believe it?.. I finally found Elemis' skin care range for young skin, which is free of parabens, SLS, SLES, DLA, mineral oils, artificial colours and silicones. Looking good! I tried the night cream and the face wash so far and initial perception is good :) When reading reviews online, the Skin Glow Exfoliating Wash comes up as a firm favourite among bloggers, I will be trying this tomorrow morning to slough off some of the old skin cells!

The discovery kit contains:
  • Peachy Perfect Gentle Face Wash 30ml
  • Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash 30ml
  • Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser 15ml
  • Dreamy Sleep Night-Time Moisturiser 15ml
  • 3 X Deep Clean Purifying Face Mask 7ml sachets

I love mini kits; you can try out the products over a period of time before you buy a full size product you may end up that you can't use as it irritates your skin... I will let you know what I think of this range when I've used the products for a week :)

NOTD: OPI "Super Bass Shatter"

The lovely Weeb sent me a wee birthday/Easter present and this cool polish was in it! Last year I got the OPI Katy Perry collection, this year, the Nicky Minaj shatter :D Thank you the Weeb!! I thought it might be similar to Nails Inc "Hoxton Square" but it's not even close - it's more glittery and far vampier :) There is a few different colours of the glitter in this, making it extra interesting. But also harder to photograph!

I should have put on a different base colour though, GOSH "Wild Lilac" looks too washed out. Maybe I should try it again with a red creme?...

NOTD: George by ASDA "Gnome" with "Octopus"

I picked these polishes up in ASDA while buying my lunch the other day after getting some pet supplies for my bugs in Pets@Home. The lighter khaki green creme is "Gnome" - love the colour, love the name! But HATE the formula. It's like applying thick, streaky, khaki green Tipp-ex to your nails... Isch.. :-/

I decided to put a layer of "Octopus", the dark khaki green shimmer, over half my nail, which interacted badly with "Gnome", and made a lot of streaky mess. So I had to patch it up with another layer.. Ugh. Super-thick and not fantastic :( And I ruined it further when changing the food branch for the stick insect. And then the cat demanded food and I again nicked it. So it's now come off. And nails are nekkid... I will need to re-try these polishes at some point one their own!

I promised you a photo of Soap & Glory Thick & Fast™ Mascara so here it is. I realise it must have fibres in it?.. It's soooo messy. I got my bareMinerals haul today so I will review at the weekend I hope :D

REVIEW: Soap & Glory Thick & Fast™ Mascara

EDIT: THIS WAS MY No 666 POST! :O

I didn't want to hate a Soap & Glory product but I do. I used this for two days until I was sick removing smudges over my face from applying this!! It's impossible not to get this on brows, lids, cheeks, nose etc when you are applying it. The brush is huge, and the wiper mechanism in the neck is too wide for the formula - it is clogged with mascara as it comes out no matter how many times you "pump" it and somehow this goes everywhere including clumping up your actual lashes. My eyes are too small to appreciate this brush - it's just too bulky to reach the corners. Nil points, Soap & Glory :(

I am off sick (AGAIN) with food poisoning/stomach flu so have no strength to photograph the tube but I will do it tomorrow for my NOTD post with some killer new green George by ASDA nail polishes :)

I bought a bareMinerals Flawless Definition mascara with my bareMinerals READY SPF 15 Touch Up Veil so I hope that is better when it arrives - I am suffering at the moment with really sensitive skin so I've had to shelve a lot of my makeup and stuff as it's upsetting my skin. Anyone tried the bareMinerals mascaras, if so, what is your opinion?

Also I am already saving up for the new Paul & Joe collection - check out how gorgeous it is at British Beauty Blogger!

NOTD: BeautyUK Posh Polish manicure

So I've had these for a while. I bought them at the same time as I got my SensatioNail "toy" and well, they kind of seemed not as exciting at the time :) But I picked them today because I fancied something really shiny and sparkling. The colour on my index and ring finger is called "Elfstone" and has a definite green cast to it in real life but my camera doesn't stretch that far. The pinky-lilac is called "Amethyst". This is 2 coats of each with a coat of MegaShine top coat. They're not as revealing of faults in your nails as traditional foil-y polishes, probably because the particltgrflitter is slightly bigger.

I'm now off to eat some more of my Easter egg - my Lindt milk chocolate bunny :)

NOTD: Ladybird Accent Nail

I decided to do some ladybird nails, but the black nail art striper I've got is really bugging me. The black dries so tacky that the top coat smears it, even after half an hour of air drying... Grrrr. I will probably remove this tomorrow, but too late to redo now. The red is Barry M "Bright Red".

This will match my red jeans and black sweater and new snazzy black and white polka dot and ladybird scarf from Primark :)

NOTD: Easter Skittles Manicure 2012

So 'tis the time of the year again for Easter manicures - well, almost. I woke up to 0 degrees Celsius and 2 inches of snow this morning after the heat wave with +20 degrees Celsius and brilliant sunshine last week!! I seriously needed to cheat and start the cheerful spring manicures. I just love these pastel Skittles polkadot manicures so, yet again, this is my Easter manicure...

This is a white nail art pen over, from the thumb to pinkie (right to left): Isadora "Ocean Drive", Bloom "Kate", Essie "Lovie Dovie", Boots 17 "Orange Soda" and Topshop "Summit".

I can't help but love this manicure! It's so cheerful and I can't wait for Easter now :)

Also check out Vakkerlakk's cool polkadot manicure - the colours are crazy good together!

NOTD: Boots No7 "Dollar"

I wanted to wear this all last week :) My photos don't look anything like the actual polish - AGAIN :( "Dollar" is a mossy green shimmer, not a greyish green like shown here. I need to try for a photograph in the office tomorrow to check if it looks better in another light.

This is 3 coats over base coat and a slick of MegaShine top coat. I love how this shimmery green looks in the light, a bit like my old fave China Glaze "Gussied-up Green", which I realise I've never done a NOTD with so that may well  be one from me later on in the week :)
